NEDA - By Kawehi (WARNING: MATURE CONTENT)

vimeo

BEFORE YOU WATCH THIS VIDEO, BE WARNED THAT THERE ARE IMAGES THAT MAY BE DISTURBING TO WATCH. *UPDATE: I'VE DECIDED TO GIVE ALL OF THE PROCEEDS FROM NEDA AND VOX TO UNITED FOR IRAN. TO Get VOX, NEDA AND TO SUPPORT PEACE AND LOVE IN IRAN: kawehi.bandcamp.com/album/vox Wasabi! First up off of VOX: NEDA. Neda Agha-Soltan was a 26 year old woman who died by a fatal shot to the chest by Iranian authorities during the 2009 election protests. Her death was captured on video by bystanders, put on the internet, and went viral around the world. Neda became the face of Iran's democracy movement - and the voice of women in Iran. An anonymous Kickstarter song pledger gave me free reigns to write about whatever I wanted - and after hours of research on NEDA, I didn't feel right about writing another silly love song. There are more important voices that need to be heard - and this time, I choose for it to belong to one woman: Neda. Everything about this video and song were done by Paul and I. The entire track is all vocals - everything you hear was a sound made by me. I wanted VOX to be simple - one instrument, one me. And the video - was shot with no money, no crew - just Paul and his one camera. We did the best we could - with the little we had - and I'm pretty happy with the outcome. Who says you can't accomplish anything DIY? I chose to include real footage in the video - and although it is very sensitive material, I thought it was important for everyone to witness. She is an inspiration to me and to us all as a human race. As always, say Wasabi: facebook.com/iamkawehi xo. k. UPDATE: A bunch of people asked for me to post the lyrics...here they are: NEDA You know you're screwed when you're walking on shells and fire's burning like a demon from hell In your lungs, to your tongue When a teacher does his best to protect but still a bullet finds its way to her chest she said, "Burning, I'm burning!" Feel the earth rumble no one's safe - on the streets of Tehran You can take my eyes But leave your stones in your gardens Your rivers, your roads You can take my eyes You can claim that the way I dress is offensive to your God They want you gone and silent, declare you a martyr and let the streets run violent Do your best to comply a pension for your lies They said, "Neda, don't be afraid, don't be afraid" "Neda, stay with me, stay!" You can take my eyes But leave your stones in your gardens Your rivers, your roads You can take my eyes You can claim that the way I dress is offensive to your God I am responsible I know that now The laws are so simple; you let what you allow I know that now A voice should be heard You showed me why and how "Neda, don't be afraid, don't be afraid" "Neda, stay with me, stay!" You can take my eyes But leave your stones in your gardens Your rivers, your roads You can take my eyes You can claim that the way I dress is offensive to your God peace and love to all of you.

The Full Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi Pilot Episode

vimeo

This is the never-before-released, 7-minute test pilot of the well-known series "Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi" featuring (a slightly different than you're used to) Ami and Yumi without Kaz; brought to by the kind folks at Renegade Animation, the animation studio in Glendale, CA that did all of the animation for the series. This isn't the disappointing preview that's shown on the Teen Titans DVDs, this is the full 7-minute cartoon, which I'm putting in here for the Puffy AmiYumi wiki and the Lost Media Wiki. You're all wondering, how was this even possible? Where did you get this? Well, I'll tell ya. Growing up, I was one of those few kids who actually paid attention to the credits and opening titles of each show so I knew who did what and where. When I saw that this pilot existed but not found, I decided to do the "testosteroic" thing and ask the people who were involved on the show. I first came in contact with Scott O'Brien, who was one of the head honchos for the series and he gave me a lot of information on the pilot, which became very useful. Later, I gained a hold of Darrell van Citters, who not only directed numerous episodes of the show and was a character in an episode (voiced by the great Rob Paulsen) but was also heavingly involved in the production of the pilot. Despite his packed schedule, he was nice enough to check the studios' archives to see if it was available, and to my surprise, found it and was able to give me the full copy. Shout out to Darrell for helping the PUFFY community. Here's the run down of the pilot's production up to the new transition for the series. To convince Cartoon Network to green-light the concept, Sam Register got Renegade, back when it was starting as a small freelance commercial house, to help create a test pilot. Scott O' Brien and Mike Giaimo storyboarded the pilot, with Giaimo doing the art direction and the designs for the incidentals. Ami and Yumi were designed by Shakeh Hagnazarian, Nate Pacheco did the effects and composition and Van Citters directed it. There was no set story; just it being a "fish out of water"-like concept of Ami and Yumi struggling to fit in America. The duo were also originally voiced by actual Japanese woman, in which their names or if there even professionals remain yet to be found, but their sessions were always a hassle because there was a struggle of gaining their lines' done correctly, which led to their recast. The designs and animations were indeed different, because instead of Flash, it was done traditionally but Flash was still used. The rough and clean up animation was done traditionally by hand, then scanned and vectorized in Adobe Streamline and finally colored and compositioned in Flash, as it was done on a low budget. This became a very time-consuming process as many scanning and vectorizing issues occurred. Also, one of Scott's original ideas, was to have Ami and Yumi's anime-esque designs blown way out of proportion and feature many other anime elements like flying robots and more. But that idea was dropped even when the series was commissioned. When Cartoon Network green-light the show, Renegade dropped the traditional pipeline to do the entire series in Flash for a cost effective and time saving solution. When one of their previous works, Kid Notorious, ended, they used half of the crew for the new series. Many other aspects, such as Yumi's fangs and freckles, as well as the idea to have the girls dress in early 2000s Japanese FRUits fashion were omitted by request of Sam Register for a more "Flash-friendly" and appealing approach and a better way to save time. Their anime expressions and designs were also toned down and removed, and the duo were re-cast to Janice Kawaye and Grey Griffin for the series. This pilot you see has been transferred from VHS to DVD and then ripped for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy the now found, lost pilot that has been haunting the Puffy AmiYumi fandom for a quite bit time and now it can be finally put to rest. And don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel; youtube.com/c/LincarRox Now, the question is, would you have wanted this version or the version your familiar with? You decide. Bye bye booooooooo~!
